Expana Update – US Turkey Breast Trim Description Change: Comment Period Concluded

On November 1st, Expana proposed changes to its turkey market coverage and sought industry feedback on those proposed changes. The comment period has now closed. In keeping with our commitment to provide the most meaningful and transparent market information to stakeholders, Expana intends to the initiate the following enhancements to existing U.S. turkey market coverage:
From: “Breast trim, 10% Fat/Under.”
To: “Ground Breast Trim”.
This latest enhancement further expands Expana’s initiative to provide market transparency in the US turkey market by capturing the rising utilization of breast meat in ground applications as processors and buyers adjust to evolving production trends.
The methodology document posted at www.expanamarkets.com/our-methodology will be amended to reflect these changes, which is proposed to go into effect on January 2, 2026.
