Turkey Methodology Change Notice

Expana is a leading source for price reporting in the US Turkey sector and regularly solicits feedback from stakeholders to ensure that our coverage reflects current trading conditions and practices.
On June 3, 2025, Expana proposed changes to its turkey market coverage and sought industry feedback on those proposed changes. The comment period has now closed. In keeping with our commitment to provide the most meaningful and transparent market information to stakeholders, Expana intends to make the following improvement:
Effective date: On July 1, 2025, Expana will be refining the description of the fresh and frozen turkey wing meat quotations.
From: “Wing Meat w/skin.”
To: “Ground Wing Meat”.
This latest change further expands Expana’s initiative to provide market transparency in the US turkey market by reflecting the industry’s transition from traditional hand-deboning of wings to mechanically ground wing meat. This better aligns with current processing methods and end-use applications.
The methodology document posted at www.expanamarkets.com/our-methodology/market-announcements will be amended to reflect this change, which is proposed to go into effect on July 1, 2025.
