Martin is Director of Data Engineering at Expana, where he leads the Data Engineering and Data Capture teams. They build and run the platform that brings data from thousands of third-party sources into Expana and supports the publication of its benchmark commodity prices.

Martin has over 15 years of experience building and scaling data platforms across high-growth data businesses, spanning financial services, e-commerce, online marketplaces and consumer technology. He began his career in consultancy, working on data warehousing for central government clients, and has since led data platform, analytics engineering and business intelligence teams, as well as a period leading a cyber security function.

Martin is a strong advocate for the practical use of AI in data engineering.
