Turkey methodology change notice

Expana is a leading source for price reporting in the US Turkey sector and regularly solicits feedback from stakeholders to ensure that our coverage reflects current trading conditions and practices.

In keeping with our commitment to provide the most meaningful and transparent market information to stakeholders, Expana proposes the following changes: 

Proposed effective date: On July 1, 2025, Expana will be refining the description of the fresh and frozen turkey wing meat quotations.

From: “Wing Meat w/skin.”  
To: “Ground Wing Meat”.  

This latest change further expands Expana’s initiative to provide market transparency in the US turkey market by reflecting the industry’s transition from traditional hand-deboning of wings to mechanically ground wing meat. This better aligns with current processing methods and end-use applications.

The methodology document posted at www.expanamarkets.com/our-methodology will be amended to reflect these changes, which is proposed to go into effect on July 1, 2025. 

Stakeholders can provide input on the proposed changes during a comment period which will take place from June 3, 2025, to June 17, 2025. Remarks will be published on Expana’s market reporting methodology page at  https://www.expanamarkets.com/our-methodology/market-announcements/
