Expana Proposes to Launch Frozen Mexican Octopus Assessments

Expana is proposing to launch three bi-weekly Expana Benchmark Prices (EBP) for the Mexican Octopus market and is collecting feedback from market participants until July 23, 2026. 

Expana suggests launching the bi-weekly assessments in Q4 2026 pending stakeholder feedback.    

The proposed specifications for the assessments would be as follows:  

The additional origin being quoted will enhance transparency in a currently opaque segment of the octopus marketplace, broadening overall coverage of octopus market dynamics in the United States.
