Expana Proposes to Launch Vitamins B6 and B9 Expana Benchmark Prices

Expana is proposing to launch weekly Expana Benchmark Prices (EBP) for vitamins B6 and B9 in all regions and is collecting feedback from market participants until Friday June 20.

If the industry supports this proposal, Expana suggests launching the weekly assessments on Tuesday, July 15.

The proposed specifications for the assessments would reflect the transactable value at 15:59:59 as of the time zone of the assessment’s publishing schedule, details of which can be found on the Expana website here.

Vitamins B6 and B9 are increasingly important components in both pet food and livestock premixes, playing vital roles in animal metabolism, immune function, and growth. These water-soluble B-vitamins are often the missing link in complete vitamin supplementation, particularly in formulations targeting companion animals, swine, poultry, and dairy cattle. Despite their nutritional significance, market transparency remains limited, with few consistent price indicators available. By introducing regular assessments of B6 and B9, we aim to bring greater visibility to these essential additives and support more informed procurement decisions across the feed and pet food sectors
